Hello everyone, wanted to post some pics I took this morning. Like most trans women, I was afraid I wasn't going to turn out. So I snapped a few pics to see how things are progressing:

I have had no FFS and I've been on HRT 90 days. Now all I need is endurance to keep going.

This was where I started my journey from.

I'm excited and scared at the same time. I want to succeed and I'm as self conscious as the next girl.

Dear Sophia:
I think it is wonderful that you started your personal transition thread.
You can treat this as your journal to help track your progress, vent your frustrations and difficulties... and to share your successes and good moments too... along with any photos you feel so led to post.

I not only keep my transition thread updated frequently but I also keep a more personal "old school" pen&paper journal along with colorful doodling and some pictures. I sometimes on a cold rainy night will sit down and spend lots of time reading the thoughts what I have expressed.

It is good personal therapy to write out what I am feeling and experiencing... I find that it helps me to postulate positive solutions to any issues that I vent to myself on my own journal.

On your thread here you can give and take suggestions and thoughts with other like-minded members.... when you report good things we will all rejoice with you ... and when the report is not-so-good we will lend an ear and provide a shoulder to lean on. Again... this is good personal therapy.

Your pictures look great and I am looking forward to following your thread and reading and watching how you are progressing in your journey.

Thanks Danielle. I've had nice interactions from several members of SP. My transition, like most I imagine, is a bumpy, but doable, road. So far it's been both scary and exciting. I've cried and laughed myself to tears in the same few minutes, come to learn what the meaning of devotion and love. I've grown as a person. I've lost people. My Brother won't speak to me. We had been very close as brothers and I guess the thought of him having a transgender sister is too much for him or he doesn't know where to begin. My [adopted] Mother said to let him be and he will have to figure out if he wants a relationship with me.

Other family members have embraced me with open arms. One particular cousin has become one of my closest girlfriends. We laughed last night so hard, it was nice.

Personally I've come to appreciate and learn from life so may new things. I've learned not to fixate on negativity and replace hate with love and appreciation. I've learned to be less critical of others and appreciate what people have to offer rather than what they take. There was a time when I started to believe I no longer had a place on this earth. I wasn't comfortable with the person I'd become. Once I became 100% honest with myself I learned what it meant to find my place. Now I'm on my way, the journey has begun. I'm happy to be here, happy in general.

Hello again my beautiful SP friends. I've just passed 5 months on HRT, all I can say right now is wow. It's been a wonderful, scary, beautiful, ugly, crazy journey so far and I'm just getting started.

It's kinda like flying airplanes. You go through ground school, learn the theories associated with flying. One day you take the controls yourself and that's pretty exciting, but nothing will prepare you for the day your safety net instructor steps out of the passenger side and says "okay, give me three good touch and goes".....time to solo. I must have looked over at that empty seat ten times before I landed.

Transition has been like soloing again...I've read everything I could about the subject, talked with several people who have forged this journey, but nothing truly prepared me for living these experiences.

I would like to acknowledge and thank everyone here and everywhere who have offered me guidance and support through my journey. I couldn't have done it without you!

Thanks for the 5 months on HRT update. Hope you have a doctor that works well with you!

I'm not a pilot and not sure what a touch-and-go is.
But I feel like I am flying solo too.

well said above Sophia, and you have a positive attitude. Living in the role is full of discoveries and learning.

I think you are going to enjoy yourself outright

Maddie, touch n go is when you land the airplane then advance the throttle and take off again during the landing roll, essentially it's a practice landing followed by an immediate take off!

Cynthia, Yes I have learned some great things living full time and I'm enjoying every second of this life. It's difficult to understand just a year ago I was in a dark place where I saw little chance of a future and now look, the world is a beautiful place to live!

Thank you Sophia for explaining. A friend of mine, who is a pilot, once told me that flyers are a definite type of people, who are like birds, and many grew up having dreams of flying.
Excited for your upcoming name change heaing.

Dear Sophia:
You are looking great and I love that great big smile on your face...
Of course every body reacts differently and at different speeds with HRT.... but for 6 months into your journey I think that the future bodes well for you.

Here on the forums is the right place to read about others journeys and you can get some ideas of what to possibly expect. For some, HRT works more quickly with more significant results and for others it works more slowly with less significant results. The thing that is required is PATIENCE...
...our mindsets are usually "We all want it ALL and we want it NOW" but that is obviously not the case with transitioning.

Thanks for your report and for posting your terrific photo.
I will be eagerly looking for more of your updates as you feel comfortable sharing them.
